Clarks

Currently I’m working on a project with Clarks – the iconic British shoe brand. Established in 1825 Clarks is one of the oldest footwear companies in the world. They are a truly international brand with offices in 35 countries selling more than 50 million pairs of shoes each year making Clarks the biggest everyday footwear brand in the world. A couple of weeks ago I had a meeting at their offices in Street, Somerset – the same factory building that the company began in. Will post more specific info on what I’m doing in due course …

Frontier Economics

Frontier is a leading economics consulting firm involved in some of the most interesting, topical and high profile issues in the world of business and economics. Their advice helps clients to make better decisions and put their best case. A blend of economics and innovative thinking, hard analysis and common sense.

Apropos is working with Frontier on applying their recently updated identity to marketing material including a series of brochures explaining business practice areas – Energy, Environment, Financial Services, Healthcare, Media, Post, Retailing, Telecoms, Transport and Water industries. Also templates, event invites and consulting on branding and graphic developments. Examples to follow.

Reebok ZigTech Apparel

Over the Summer I worked on a series of POS designs for Reebok, extending the established ZigTech creative across a range of clothing. ZigTech is designed for running and gym training - the innovative zig-zag shoe sole returns energy to the wearer and the clothing features Celliant technology which transfers sweat away from the body. I worked on a series of POS templates including landscape and portrait formats, hanger graphics and swing tags.

Designs featuring Lewis Hamilton – not used in final creative.

Addendum: Shortly after I worked with Reebok Russia on a POS image promoting ZigTech hightop boots.

Reebok Men’s Toning

Concept development project with Reebok for their men’s toning footwear range. Working with the Amsterdam marketing office to develop a campaign which explains the bosu-ball inspired pod technology of Reebok’s RunTone and TrainTone shoes to a male audience. The concept was applied to posters, vinyl graphics, countertop leaflet dispensers, and promotional items.

We designed a core information graphic, showing the movement of air from one pod to another, plus bold typography to illustrate improved fitness and strength.

Spinning ceiling hanger.

Counter top leaflet dispenser.

Transparent rubber bosu-ball shoe display and leaflet dispenser.

Postcards.

Gym towels and “magic” expanding flannels.

Branded drink dispenser cups and coffee holder, stress balls, gym card holder and lanyard…

Large format window and mirror “footprint” vinyls, fridge magnets and stickers.

Richard Legge Photography

Recent work on a new identity for photographer Richard Legge. Richard studied at the Norwich School of Art and has worked internationally for publications including Vanity Fair, Indian Vogue, The Observer, The Telegraph, The Times, Kraken Publishing and Blueprint Magazine. He has also worked with me on Musto projects and with Yamaha on brand commissions. The full logotype can be disassembled – the central RLP circle used as a social media avatar, the outer ring embossed/stamped onto limited edition prints.

Cambridge Creative Network

It’s early days but the Cambridge Creative Network plans to offer a showcase and networking forum for artists, designers, writers, musicians – in fact anyone working creatively in the Cambridge area. Apropos created a simple identity appropriate to this very broad church. The site will launch in a few weeks but for now interested parties can join the CCN Facebook Group.

Reebok Kids

A series of POS layout ideas for Reebok’s range of pre-teen children’s trainers. We made characters and other graphic elements, as if drawn by children. These elements were used to represent the lively imaginations of kids at play. Princesses, woodland animals, hearts, flowers and stars for the girls – robots, astronauts, dinosaurs, tigers and super heroes for the boys. Less figurative, more graphic elements for the older children.

We designed a visual language before applying to business cards (2 colour foil block – printed by Generation Press) and a simple website (built by White Horse Web). Dave Trott – The Typographic Circle

A1 poster designed for Dave Trott’s talk to The Typographic Circle. We worked on a variety of ideas before Dave chose this direction. He suggested it be displayed upside down to better reflect the subject of his presentation – Creative Mischief. The design is stripped back to a minimum, following the Typo Circle’s visual language and using negative space to emphasize the title. The Typographic Circle logo is modified from “typ” to “trott”, also made into 1″ button badges. Printed by The Good News Press, on GF Smith’s Mohawk Superfine Ultrawhite Eggshell.

Dave Trott is an influential advertising creative whose 30 year career includes the “Lipsmackin’ thirstquenchin’ acetastin’ motivatin’ goodbuzzin’ cooltalkin’ highwalkin’ fastlivin’ evergivin’ coolfizzin’” Pepsi commercials and “Hello Tosh, got a Toshiba” ads voiced by Ian Dury. He now runs CST Advertising, writes Dave’s Blog and has published a new book called Creative Mischief.
