Following a meeting at Frontier Economics I made it to Gillian Wearing’s show at Whitechapel Gallery. Wearing is interested in the paradox between how we present ourselves and who we really are. “Wearing’s portraits and mini-dramas reveal a paradox, given the chance to dress up, put on a mask or act out a role, the liberation of anonymity allows us to be more truly ourselves.” Read More >

Sally O’Reilly was writer in residence at the Whitechapel Gallery between 2010-2011. Her residency consisted of a variety of events – a beach for writers and readers in a nearby park, a virtual periscope displaying messages from artists around the world and a 3-sided football match played by members of the three main political parties on the run up to the general election.
