A1 poster designed for Dave Trott’s talk to The Typographic Circle. We worked on a variety of ideas before Dave chose this direction. He suggested it be displayed upside down to better reflect the subject of his presentation – Creative Mischief. The design is stripped back to a minimum, following the Typo Circle’s visual language and using negative space to emphasize the title. The Typographic Circle logo is modified from “typ” to “trott”, also made into 1″ button badges. Printed by The Good News Press, on GF Smith’s Mohawk Superfine Ultrawhite Eggshell.

Dave Trott is an influential advertising creative whose 30 year career includes the “Lipsmackin’ thirstquenchin’ acetastin’ motivatin’ goodbuzzin’ cooltalkin’ highwalkin’ fastlivin’ evergivin’ coolfizzin’” Pepsi commercials and “Hello Tosh, got a Toshiba” ads voiced by Ian Dury. He now runs CST Advertising, writes Dave’s Blog and has published a new book called Creative Mischief.
