Drove out of Walden and parked in a lay-by. Went for a run. The countryside’s looking pretty spent. The land here is chalky and when it’s dry it cracks. Stubble fields are being ploughed under, making billowing clouds of dust – man-size whirlwinds can be seen crossing the fields.
Got my Lautrec/Ubu DVD from Geoff Dunbar this morning. Ma Ubu’s angry pointed red tipped missile breasts were just as I remembered them. He also very kindly made a drawing of Ubu on the accompanying letter. Read More >
