The Music of David Byrne and Brian Eno. Brilliant mixed two hour set including the new album plus music from the first 3 Talking Heads albums and My Life in The Bush of Ghosts. DB dressed head to toe in white with a shock of white hair. Band, backing singers and dancers swapped roles with dancers playing instruments and singers/band dancing. Part choreographed, part improvised. Burning Down the House saw everyone in white tutu’s… final encore Brian Eno appeared… in white.

The band consisted of 2 drummers/percussionists, keyboard, bass, 3x backing singers, 3x dancers, and DB on guitar. (Sorry – bad mobile photos only) The sound was great – much livelier than the album versions and DB voice a lot more powerful than I was expecting. It was a “show”. Not so much dance routines as expressive movements with a loose structure to allow improvisation. Not pretentious – fun, eg. synchronised routine on black spinning office chairs. Occasional flamboyant balletic leaps. Lighting in bold blocks of primary colour.
