Wakelin’s are a Saffron Walden based estate agents. We were asked to create a new identity for the company. The original brand had been created 15 years previously, and while successful, the time was right to re-position and contemporise.
Brand Development -

Following an initial research stage, we developed a range of possible directions. The final design is an evolution of the original brand. We softened the graphics and introduced a livelier colour palette which better reflects the company and the changing needs/aspirations of the market. The new identity was applied to all company stationery including business card, compliment slip and letterhead.
Shop Front & Property Boards -

A bright orange and green were used for high road-side visibility. Orange “For Sale” boards changing to green when “Sold”. The brighter colours were softened in combination with a deep burgundy and grey for corporate stationery – communicating a traditional company with a contemporary edge.
Advertising -

Photographer Richard Legge was commissioned to create a library of contemporary local images which could be used to build awareness of the Wakelin’s brand. These were used in a series of posters, full page newspaper and magazines designs.

I find it simple and original.
As we followed Gareth and his family out to Essex from London, It was really nice to know that great jobs exist in the sticks too. 10 minutes down the road with lovely clients who don’t have that ‘London attitude’, fast payment and the usual Apropos non restrictive brief, what’s not to like?
