New York based photographer Martha Camarillo has taken a series of images documenting the people and place, before it gets flattened by developers. Walked around the town this morning. Even quieter than the weekend. Coop, chemist, a few small amusement arcades and tea shops and the tattoo parlour were all that was open. I like old tattered billboards, like this on the side of the KINO amusement arcade. Read More >

This is Sharkey. We’ve met him a few times collecting shark’s teeth on Walton beach. Here he is showing off his prize find. Out of season seaside town’s are strange. They are a cliche. We made the mistake of visiting the Co-Op as it was closing. Queues of old ladies buying bottles of vodka and scratch cards. Read More >

scallopGot a cold. Didn’t make it to Maggi Hambling’s talk at the town hall. Not very rock and roll for a friday night but I was looking forward to it. Cough. Scallop (2003) stands on the north end of Aldeburgh beach. It is a tribute to Benjamin Britten and is pierced with the words “I hear those voices that will not be drowned” from his opera Peter Grimes.
